Fire Erupts in Tirana Tower: Seven Individuals Hospitalized

Post by : Badri Ariffin

A significant fire erupted in a 12-storey residential tower in Tirana, generating chaos among residents and prompting an immediate emergency response.

Initial investigations suggest the blaze ignited on the lower floors, likely in a commercial space, before quickly spreading upwards. Dense smoke and flames rapidly overtook sections of the building, complicating evacuation efforts.

Evacuations Amidst Growing Fear

Emergency personnel, including firefighters and police, promptly arrived to facilitate the evacuation of residents from the structure. Many occupants had to escape as smoke permeated the hallways and staircases.

Rescue crews operated in treacherous conditions working to extricate those trapped within.

Seven Victims of Smoke Exposure

At least seven individuals suffered from smoke inhalation, receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Officials have confirmed no fatalities at this time.

Containment Achieved by Firefighters

Firefighters tackled the incident for several hours before managing to bring it under control. The fire inflicted significant damage on various sections of the building, affecting multiple floors.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are currently investigating to ascertain the precise cause of the fire. Preliminary information suggests it began on lower levels, although officials have yet to confirm this.
