Tragic Tiffin, Ohio Shooting Leaves Four Dead, Including Young Children

Tragic Tiffin, Ohio Shooting Leaves Four Dead, Including Young Children

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Tiffin, Ohio – A heartbreaking shooting incident on Wednesday evening resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including two young children, shaking the local community to its core. The children’s mother managed to survive but is reportedly in a state of distress.

Police responded to a call at approximately 6:24 p.m. from the mother, who was in shock after the tragic event unfolded at their residence on Huss Street. Investigators speculate that domestic issues spiraled out of control, culminating in a fatal murder-suicide.

The individuals identified include 29-year-old Dustin Willey and 42-year-old Ryan Eagon, along with two children, ages 7 years and 7 months. At the time of the shooting, Willey and the mother were inside gathering belongings following a family conflict, while the children were outside near a vehicle.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Eagon, who was reportedly away for work, returned home and confronted Willey. Witness accounts reveal that Eagon pursued Willey, discharged several rounds, and tragically shot both children before directing the gun at Willey. Eagon subsequently took his own life.

Emergency personnel transported Willey to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The 7-year-old was also taken to the hospital but did not survive, while the 7-month-old infant and Eagon were declared dead at the scene.

Fortunately, no officers were harmed during the incident, and responding law enforcement did not discharge their weapons. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has partnered with local authorities to manage the crime scene and conduct interviews.

Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly conveyed his condolences, stating, “As a community, we are unaccustomed to such catastrophic events. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and all first responders impacted by this tragedy.”

As the community begins to heal from this unspeakable loss, investigators continue their work to uncover the full context surrounding this tragic event.
