In a troubling incident, a night train en route from Moscow to Chelyabinsk derailed in western Russia, leading to injuries for at least 55 passengers as several carriages overturned.
This derailment took place near Bryandino village within Ulyanovsk Oblast, located around 1,000 kilometers east of Moscow. Reports confirm that during the mishap, seven of the train's carriages went off the tracks.
Regional governor Aleksey Yuryevich Russkikh has assured the public that there have been no reported fatalities. At the time of the incident, the train had approximately 415 passengers on board.
Emergency response teams acted promptly, transporting those injured to local hospitals for necessary medical care. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation, as authorities begin their inquiries.
Railway officials are making efforts to restore services in the affected area while prioritizing the safety of passengers and the integrity of the railway infrastructure.
