Trump Reignites Clash with Kimmel in Ongoing Late-Night Rivalry

On November 21, 2025, President Donald Trump reignited his longstanding feud with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Using his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump labeled Kimmel “a talentless man with dismal television ratings” and urged for his removal from television. This remark was made shortly after the East Coast airing of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

This isn't the first instance of Trump publicly lambasting the talk show host. Their contentious history stretches back several years, with Trump routinely criticizing Kimmel’s performances, while Kimmel has been unabashed in mocking Trump’s policies and controversies during his comedic segments.

Kimmel, known for his quick wit, countered Trump’s latest insult during his Thursday night broadcast. He pointed out the President's low approval ratings and exaggeratedly thanked him for watching the show live instead of online, quipping, “Hi, Mr. President, thanks for keeping us on the air… ironically, viewers like you keep the show running.”

Kimmel also took jabs at Trump's prior actions, recalling a temporary halt of his show in September due to Kimmel's comments regarding the assassination of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk. Trump had publicly celebrated the suspension, branding Kimmel as “ratings-challenged” and commending the network for the decision. Ultimately, the suspension lasted only a week following a public outcry.

During his monologue, Kimmel humorously addressed Trump’s recent outburst against a Bloomberg reporter concerning the release of Epstein files, referencing Trump’s “quiet, Piggy” remark. Kimmel jested, “We’ll be a team. Let’s ride off into the sunset together… and until then, quiet, Piggy!” He concluded the segment with a light-hearted message to Trump: “I’ll go when you go,” making clear his commitment to stay on the show.

As Kimmel's contract approaches its expiration at the end of the season, uncertainty surrounding his continuation as host remains. The escalating feud between Trump and Kimmel continues to garner significant attention, amplified by social media's reach.

This latest installment reveals the persistent friction between the former US President and the late-night entertainer, underscoring the complex interplay of politics, entertainment, and media influence in American society.
