The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, A. Bayramov, held an important diplomatic meeting with Princess Takamado, a member of Japan’s Imperial Family, in Tokyo on May 20, 2026. The meeting highlighted the growing friendship and strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan across multiple sectors.

According to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides praised the current state of bilateral relations and discussed ways to further strengthen cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Princess Takamado received information about the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow Charitable Foundation, which supports children in need of guardianship and social care. Both parties also explored future cooperation opportunities in education, sports, environmental protection and modern green energy technologies. The meeting reflected shared interests in sustainable development and peaceful international collaboration.
