Post by : Badri Ariffin

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, marked 6 May as a day of national pride and patriotism, commemorating the unification of the UAE Armed Forces.

He described this unification as a pivotal moment in the nation’s history, establishing a robust foundation for security and stability, which has been essential for the UAE’s ongoing growth and enhancement of its global standing across various sectors.

Sheikh Ahmed underscored that the decision to unify the Armed Forces reflected the visionary outlook of the UAE’s Founding Fathers. Their foresight recognized that the nation's advancement relied on a strong, united defense mechanism. This initiative fostered a sustainable development paradigm characterized by growth, stability, and strength.

As the nation commemorates the 50th anniversary of this significant event, Sheikh Ahmed remarked on the critical role the Armed Forces have played in safeguarding national achievements and enhancing the UAE’s global reputation. Their contributions extend to supporting the UAE’s diplomatic and humanitarian missions, positioning the country as a steadfast advocate of worldwide peace and stability.

He noted that the nation’s safety and development stem from progressive leadership dedicated to cultivating a modern and adept military. The Armed Forces consistently demonstrate exceptional levels of readiness, discipline, and efficacy in addressing emerging challenges.

Sheikh Ahmed also commended the commitment and sacrifices of personnel within the Armed Forces, acknowledging their crucial role in national defense and service.

He affirmed that the excellence of the UAE Armed Forces is derived from relentless investment in training, human resource development, and advanced defense technologies, enabling them to be recognized among the most professional military forces globally.

Additionally, he reflected on the vision and leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and their fellow Founding Fathers, whose impactful decisions continue to shape the UAE's present.

In closing, Sheikh Ahmed stated that the UAE is poised to advance with resilience and unity, epitomized by its Armed Forces, which symbolize the nation’s determination for a prosperous future.
