The UAE is rapidly establishing itself as a prime hub for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, attracting private capital with its strong infrastructure, investor-friendly policies, and premium real estate offerings. In line with this growth, Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the MENAT region, recently hosted the second edition of its Private Banking Next Generation programme, aimed at preparing young business leaders to preserve and grow their family legacies.
The programme, titled “From Legacy to Leadership”, was conducted in collaboration with PwC and Visa. It provided participants with valuable insights into family business governance, entrepreneurship, leadership skills, and the evolving role of technology, including Generative AI, in shaping business strategies.
This initiative arrives amid a significant inter-generational transfer of wealth in the Middle East, which is projected to exceed USD 1 trillion by 2030. Families with diversified assets are increasingly seeking guidance to navigate complex legal, regulatory, and financial landscapes while ensuring effective succession planning and governance.
Participants in the programme gained a comprehensive understanding of how to serve as effective board members, manage wealth responsibly, and drive sustainable business growth while preserving their family’s vision and values. By connecting emerging leaders with industry experts, Emirates NBD aims to foster strategic thinking and practical skills that ensure long-term success.
The programme reflects a broader trend in private banking, emphasizing holistic client engagement where empowering the next generation is as crucial as wealth management. As young leaders prepare to assume leadership roles, initiatives like this play a pivotal role in building resilient, forward-looking family enterprises in the UAE and across the MENAT region.
