During the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul, Mira Sultan Al Suwaidi, representing the Federal National Council (FNC) and chair of the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development, took the helm of a significant committee meeting.
The session, organized by Türkiye's Grand National Assembly, also featured Khalid Omar Al Kharji, who was part of the UAE delegation attending this global parliamentary assembly.
The focus was on a key draft resolution, titled “Building a fair and sustainable global economy,” as participants reviewed previous meeting records and engaged in extensive discussions. This resolution stresses the essential role of parliaments in tackling global economic issues, such as minimizing trade protectionism and preventing corporate tax evasion.
The meeting culminated in the formal approval of this resolution, underscoring the significance of international collaboration among parliaments toward economic equity, transparency, and sustainable development across the globe.
This session highlights the UAE's proactive approach to influencing global economic policies and its dedication to promoting inclusive and sustainable growth internationally.
