Remarkable Tribute to UAE Founding Fathers Debuts on Dubai Metro

Remarkable Tribute to UAE Founding Fathers Debuts on Dubai Metro

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a celebration of national pride, Dubai’s Red Line has been transformed into a vibrant showcase honoring the UAE’s Founding Fathers, unveiled by Brand Dubai, part of the Government of Dubai Media Office. This impressive display spans from Centrepoint station to Expo 2020 station, catching the attention of countless daily commuters and visitors.

The creative tribute portrays images of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, paired with verses from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s poem, ‘The People and the Leader’. This initiative, part of Dubai’s ‘National Month’ festivities, is the second edition of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign.

Developed in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this artistic initiative harmoniously integrates with one of Dubai’s most recognizable symbols of innovative transport. The Red Line carriages now serve as a canvas for reminders of the leadership principles that guided the National development, in alignment with RTA’s goal to strengthen national identity within the public transport system.

This endeavor encapsulates the essence of unity and cooperation that marked the formation of the Union. For numerous commuters, this artwork offers a moment to pause and reflect during their bustling routines, bridging the contemporary dynamics of Dubai with its historical essence.

The metro tribute is a component of an extensive range of National Month activities in Dubai, which also includes the beloved Flag Garden at Umm Suqeim Beach, grand artworks on DIFC’s Gate Building, and various cultural and community events occurring throughout the city until December 2.

Emphasizing creativity, heritage, and public participation, the tribute along Dubai Metro significantly enriches the city’s National Month celebrations, transforming ordinary commutes into poignant reminders of the UAE’s rich national narrative.
