UAE Humanitarian Agency Hosts AI Workshop to Enhance Aid Efforts

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The UAE Humanitarian Agency conducted a dedicated workshop that explored the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in humanitarian efforts. This event gathered 40 donor representatives from various humanitarian and charitable entities across the UAE.

The primary objective was to bolster institutional capabilities, equipping professionals with skills to leverage AI technologies for enhancing humanitarian, developmental, and charitable initiatives.

Leveraging AI for Enhanced Humanitarian Action

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Humanitarian Agency, underscored the necessity of integrating AI within humanitarian practices. He noted that AI holds potential to elevate emergency response operations and augment preparedness efforts across donor organisations and humanitarian affiliates.

He pointed out that utilizing intelligent algorithms opens avenues for humanitarian groups to optimize their annual programs and effectively launch community projects in the world’s most vulnerable regions.

Per Dr. Al Ameri, such initiatives are pivotal in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals while amplifying the efficacy of humanitarian efforts.

Commitment to Innovation and Ethical AI Implementation

The workshop featured multiple sessions aimed at fostering national and institutional competencies in humanitarian endeavors. Attendees also discussed strategies to stimulate innovation while ensuring responsible application of modern technologies in humanitarian contexts.

Participants delved into how AI can bolster development projects, support humanitarian missions, and refine charitable programs while enhancing both planning and operational efficiencies.

Advancing the UAE's Humanitarian Objectives

This workshop exemplifies the UAE's commitment to harnessing AI for humanitarian purposes, thus amplifying the impact of its humanitarian, developmental, and charitable activities. By enhancing AI literacy among donor institutions, the UAE Humanitarian Agency is devoted to assisting organisations in providing more effective support to communities in need.
