UAE Unveils Monumental Date Factory to Combat Child Malnutrition

UAE Unveils Monumental Date Factory to Combat Child Malnutrition

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has launched a significant initiative aimed at eradicating global hunger and improving child nutrition.

On Friday, he introduced plans for the largest date processing plant worldwide, aimed at creating nutrient-rich food products specifically designed for children in disadvantaged communities. This endeavor is being undertaken in partnership with various stakeholders as part of his global humanitarian efforts.

Sheikh Mohammed stated that the factory will be capable of producing up to 150 million fortifying date-based food units each year. These products are intended to target malnourished children, aiding in their health and nutritional access.

Emphasizing the importance of this initiative, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that the UAE and its region are abundant in palm trees, with dates serving as a crucial food source throughout history. He pointed out that this natural asset is being utilized to create a nutritionally affluent product aimed at addressing global hunger issues.

This initiative showcases the UAE's unwavering dedication to humanitarian work and its focus on sustainable solutions to combat food insecurity on a global scale.
