In London, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the UAE, engaged with Jonathan Powell, the UK’s National Security Adviser, focusing on recent regional challenges, especially following Iran's attacks on civilian sites in the UAE.
The leaders examined how Iran's missile and drone strikes affecting civilian infrastructure in the UAE could have far-reaching consequences. Powell reiterated the UK’s commitment to the UAE's security and condemned what he referred to as unwarranted terrorist aggression from Iran.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed appreciation for the UK's supportive stance and reinforced the safety of all individuals within the UAE.
Their discussions highlighted the broader implications of these attacks on global shipping lanes, energy resources, and the international economy. Both UAE and UK representatives underscored the necessity of enhanced international collaboration to safeguard maritime corridors and promote uninterrupted global trade.
Additionally, they explored strategies for boosting regional and global cooperation to foster stability, security, and peace in the region.
The meeting further underscored the robust strategic alliance between the UAE and the United Kingdom.
