Emirati Youth Engaged in World Bank's Talent Development Initiative

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Under the esteemed guidance of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has unveiled plans for 15 Emirati nationals to participate in the National Talent Development with the World Bank Group Explorers Program. This initiative is set to offer invaluable hands-on experience in the realm of international development and global finance.

The announcement surfaced during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund held in Washington, D.C. This collaborative effort is spearheaded by the UAE Ministry of Finance alongside the World Bank Group.

A number of key national institutions, including the UAE Aid Agency and ADGM Academy, back this initiative, demonstrating a comprehensive commitment to nurturing local talent.

As a pioneering participant in this global initiative, the UAE is focused on enhancing the capabilities of its youth in international development organizations.

Selected Emirati youths will engage in real-world development projects, gaining hands-on experience in economics, finance, and infrastructure while familiarizing themselves with the operational aspects of the World Bank.

Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini emphasized that this program embodies the UAE's vision of investing in human capital, ultimately equipping the next generation for global economic decision-making roles.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri noted that this initiative will facilitate training and skill enhancement, exposing Emirati youth to international standards, thereby fostering their careers in development and economics.

Radi Anguelova remarked that this partnership symbolizes a shared goal of cultivating leaders who are capable of tackling global challenges and creating impactful solutions.

Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei expressed that this program will equip Emirati talent with the essential skills to navigate and thrive in today's complex international landscape.

In addition, the initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's overarching economic objectives by advancing local expertise in development finance and promoting synergy between the public and private sectors.

Ultimately, the program aspires to empower Emirati youth with global competencies and position the UAE as a significant player in international development and economic stability.
