Sheikh Saif Chairs Meeting on UAE's 2031 Population Strategy

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a pivotal meeting held in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, evaluated the National Population Framework 2031 as Chairman of the Federal Demographic Structure Council (FDSC).

The session revolved around recent developments and setting priorities for future initiatives, all aimed at establishing a more adaptable and effective demographic framework throughout the UAE. This initiative is in line with the national vision endorsed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, geared towards sustainable growth and extensive national progress.

Sheikh Saif underscored the necessity of evolving policies that nurture population sustainability, reinforcing their alignment with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, a key strategy put forth by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

During the meeting, the council assessed various performance indicators and stressed the critical need for adaptive policies to effectively respond to swift demographic and economic fluctuations. Officials reiterated the importance of sustaining a demographic equilibrium while pursuing the UAE’s growth objectives.

Key discussions included enhancing the participation of UAE nationals in vital economic sectors, improving workforce efficiency, and strategically utilizing the nation’s diverse population to propel future advancements.

Council members also reviewed implementation strategies from strategic partners, focusing on integrated initiatives that aim to expedite the realization of national objectives based on the framework's essential pillars.

The meeting concluded on a note of gratitude for the UAE's distinctive demographic landscape, reflecting values of coexistence, tolerance, and cultural diversity—principles that continuously drive the nation’s evolution under its leadership.
