Vietnam Election Sees Record Voter Turnout

Vietnam Election Sees Record Voter Turnout

Post by : Shakul

Vietnam has successfully completed its 2026 national elections, recording one of the highest voter turnout rates in its history. According to official reports, more than 76 million voters participated across over 72,000 polling stations, achieving a turnout of 99.7 percent. The elections were held to choose deputies for the 16th National Assembly and local People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term.

Nguyen Thi Thanh stated that the elections were conducted smoothly under strong coordination between government institutions and political organizations. She highlighted that all 500 National Assembly deputies were successfully elected, reflecting effective planning and execution of the electoral process.

The election also showed high public participation in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where voting was completed early despite large populations. Authorities said the process ensured transparency, democracy, and security, with fewer complaints compared to previous elections.

Officials emphasized that the successful election demonstrates national unity and strong public trust in the leadership. It is expected to play a key role in shaping Vietnam’s governance and policy direction for the coming years.
