As Vietnam gears up to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Ministry of Public Security has launched a major security operation to ensure the celebrations are safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.
The deployment ceremony was held in Hanoi, where security units were officially tasked with maintaining public order and safety throughout the historic events. This year marks an important milestone in Vietnam’s history, and authorities are determined to guarantee a flawless celebration.
High-Level Security Measures
Deputy Minister of Public Security, Phạm Thế Tùng, stressed the importance of carrying out security operations at the highest and most resolute level. He emphasized that there must be no mistakes, and officers must remain alert at all times.
“Security efforts must ensure absolute safety without a single error. Every officer must fully understand their role, responsibilities, and tasks. Complacency or negligence is not acceptable. Full vigilance and focus are required to protect the public and the events,” said Deputy Minister Tùng.
The Ministry is not only focusing on strict security measures but also ensuring that the public can enjoy the celebrations without interruption. This includes organizing the parade, cultural activities, and other anniversary events in a way that allows everyone to take part freely and safely.
Protecting Against Threats
Priority will be given to preventing hostile, reactionary, or criminal activities that could disrupt the celebrations. Authorities are paying special attention to information and cybersecurity to avoid any interference in communications or operations.
Crime suppression is a key part of the operation. Increased patrols and controls will be implemented across the country to prevent theft, violence, and other criminal acts. Authorities will strictly manage weapons, explosives, and other dangerous materials to avoid accidents or threats during the celebrations.
Fire safety and rescue measures have also been strengthened. All venues, including parade routes, public gathering areas, delegate accommodations, and service facilities, will have firefighting and emergency response teams ready to act at any moment.
Traffic and Public Management
Smooth traffic flow is crucial for a successful celebration. The Ministry has developed effective traffic management plans to reduce congestion, prevent accidents, and ensure that parade forces, delegations, and emergency vehicles can move without delay. Roads along the parade route have been organized carefully, with special attention to security checkpoints and patrols.
Reception and escort of delegates, including government officials and international visitors, will be handled with precision. Communications systems have been upgraded to work without interruption, ensuring that command and control remain effective during the events.
Nationwide Security Campaigns
The Ministry has issued detailed plans and procedures for security and order at all levels. Field deployments have been synchronized and interconnected, forming a seamless security system across the country.
In addition to local measures, eight nationwide campaigns were launched today to combat criminal activities, illegal entry and exit, and other security threats. These campaigns aim to create a safe environment for all citizens and visitors participating in the commemorative activities.
Public Cooperation and Awareness
Authorities are also urging the public to cooperate with security measures. Citizens are encouraged to follow instructions from officers, report suspicious activities, and remain alert during crowded events. Public awareness plays an essential role in ensuring the success of these celebrations.
Deputy Minister Phạm Thế Tùng reminded officers that safety is not only about following orders but also about taking personal responsibility. Every officer must actively monitor the situation, respond quickly to any incident, and protect citizens from harm.
Vietnam’s National Day is one of the country’s most important celebrations, marking the historic August Revolution that changed the nation’s history. The 80th anniversary this year is expected to be a grand and memorable event, with parades, cultural activities, and gatherings of citizens and officials across the country.
By deploying a comprehensive security plan, the Ministry of Public Security aims to ensure that all events run smoothly and safely. From crime prevention to fire safety, traffic management to cyber security, every measure has been taken to protect the public and maintain order.
