In a dramatic quarter-final at the AFC U23 Asian Cup held on Friday, Vietnam secured their place in the semifinals by defeating the United Arab Emirates 3-2 in extra time at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
The match was a tight contest, with both teams exchanging goals, resulting in a 2-2 draw by the end of regulation time. With neither side able to find a winner during the initial 90 minutes, the game progressed to extra time.
Displaying immense resolve, Vietnam found the back of the net with a crucial goal in the extra period, ultimately sealing their victory and progression to the tournament’s semi-finals.
