Xi Jinping Calls India a Trusted Partner on Republic Day

Post by : Meena Ariff

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday sent Republic Day greetings to President Droupadi Murmu and the people of India, describing the relationship between the two countries as one based on neighbourhood, friendship, and partnership.

In his message, Xi said that China and India, as two major developing nations and neighbouring countries, share a responsibility to maintain stable and constructive relations. He noted that over the past year, ties between New Delhi and Beijing have continued to improve through dialogue and cooperation at various levels.

Highlighting the broader impact of bilateral relations, Xi stated that a healthy and forward-looking India-China relationship is of great importance not only for both nations but also for regional stability and global prosperity. He stressed that cooperation between the two Asian powers can play a key role in promoting peace, economic growth, and balanced development worldwide.

The Chinese President also underlined the importance of mutual trust, respect for each other’s interests, and peaceful coexistence. He expressed hope that both sides would continue to strengthen communication, manage differences responsibly, and work together to expand areas of cooperation.

India celebrated its Republic Day with nationwide events, showcasing its democratic values, cultural heritage, and growing global role. Xi’s message comes at a time when both countries are seeking to stabilize relations and explore pathways for long-term cooperation.

Observers see the message as a positive signal, indicating an intent from both sides to maintain dialogue and build a more stable and predictable relationship in the coming years.
