Yami Gautam Dhar is celebrating the acclaim garnered by her latest release, Haq, inspired by the significant Shah Bano case. With overwhelming support from audiences and critics alike, Yami has already secured four new film projects, although she chose to keep the details under wraps, stating, “It's up to the producer to make them public.”
Many fans feel that Yami's compelling performance in Haq deserves a National Award. When questioned about this, she replied with a smile, saying she isn't sure how to respond. “I cherish all the wonderful messages from my viewers. Their affection is the greatest acknowledgment for me,” she added.
In discussing her career choices, Yami mentioned she doesn’t engage in award shows or Bollywood gatherings. “Networking is vital in our industry, but if it doesn’t resonate with me, I can’t partake. I prefer to concentrate on my craft and await the right scripts,” she commented.
She further elaborated that success isn’t solely about adhering to trends. “If awards bring you joy, that's wonderful. Yet, one can carve their unique path and find success without losing authenticity. The audience today appreciates genuineness and real talent more than ever,” Yami remarked.
Reflecting on her family life, Yami spoke fondly of her 18-month-old son, Vedavid. When asked which of her films she might share with him in the future, she responded, “I'll make that decision later. During my pregnancy while filming Article 370, my mother imparted a beautiful lesson: if you work hard, your child will respect that dedication. So in a way, he was part of that film too.”
The film Haq, featuring Emraan Hashmi, debuted in theaters on November 7 and continues to earn accolades for its poignant storytelling and outstanding performances.
