A deeply disturbing case of child abuse has emerged from Yogyakarta, where authorities uncovered shocking conditions at the Little Aresha Care Center. The discovery has raised serious concerns about child safety and oversight in childcare institutions.
According to officials, dozens of children, most of them infants and toddlers, were found in extremely neglectful conditions. Reports indicated that many of the children were tied with cloth strips, left lying on the floor, and kept in diapers for long periods without proper care or supervision.
Visual evidence from the scene revealed heartbreaking conditions, with young children appearing weak, exhausted, and unable to move freely. The situation suggested prolonged neglect and possible systematic mistreatment inside the facility.
Authorities confirmed that at least 53 children were victims in this case. Many of them were reportedly left unattended for extended hours, raising concerns about their physical and emotional well-being.
A major police operation was carried out following the discovery, leading to the arrest of 13 individuals. Those detained include both staff members and members of the management team responsible for running the care center.
Investigators are now examining the full extent of the abuse, including how long the conditions persisted and whether there were previous complaints or warnings that went unnoticed. Officials have assured that a thorough and transparent investigation will be conducted.
Child protection agencies have stepped in to provide immediate care and support to the rescued children. Efforts are being made to ensure their medical treatment, psychological recovery, and safe rehabilitation.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for stricter regulation and monitoring of childcare facilities across the country. Experts say stronger enforcement mechanisms are needed to prevent such cases in the future.
Authorities have emphasized that those found guilty will face strict legal action. The case serves as a grim reminder of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children and ensuring accountability in institutions responsible for their care.
