The inaugural Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion – Damj, organized by the Department of Community Development (DCD), has revealed a total of 372 entries from various organizations in the emirate. This strong participation underscores the commitment to inclusivity.
Launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, the award aims to establish Abu Dhabi as a global frontrunner in inclusive development, promoting innovative programs, recognizable standards, and inclusive policies.

Accessibility (Physical and Digital)
The enthusiastic participation highlights how inclusion has become a core organizational principle in Abu Dhabi, showcasing the advances made through the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination, which aims to create an inclusive environment and promote equal opportunities.
Enhancing Quality of Life and Empowerment
The Damj Award aims to acknowledge collaborative efforts and stimulate initiatives that improve the quality of life for People of Determination and their families, encouraging their full participation in social, economic, and communal spheres.

Reflecting on the remarkable response, Her Excellency Dr. Layla Al Hyas, Executive Director of the Family and Child Welfare Sector at DCD, remarked:
“The significant number of entries in the Damj Award’s first edition illustrates Abu Dhabi’s growing awareness and commitment to the empowerment of People of Determination.”
She emphasized that this success stems from the visionary leadership of the UAE and the collaborative efforts of various Abu Dhabi entities aimed at promoting inclusion in services, employment, and community involvement.
