Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan honored her late father, Krishnaraj Rai, on what would have been his birthday, sharing a deeply emotional tribute that reflects the family's ongoing love and remembrance. She took to social media to share a series of nostalgic photos, showcasing the bond between her father and his granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan—a relationship Aishwarya holds dear.
The initial image captured a tender moment from years past, featuring a young Aaradhya kissing her grandfather on the cheek, with Aishwarya smiling warmly beside them. In contrast, the modern photo depicted the mother-daughter pair dressed in white, paying their respects in front of Krishnaraj Rai's portrait, symbolizing the lasting impact he has on their lives even after his passing.
Accompanying the pictures, Aishwarya penned a heartfelt message: “Happy Birthday dearest Daddy-Ajjaaa. Our Guardian Angel, love you eternally. Thanking you for ALL your infinite love and blessings as our Aaradhya turned 14.” This message underscored the day’s significance—celebrating her father’s legacy while marking her daughter's milestones.
Krishnaraj Rai passed away in 2017 after a long illness in Mumbai. Aishwarya shared a special bond with him and has consistently paid tribute to him on both his birthday and the anniversary of his death over the years, sharing private family moments and reflections steeped in gratitude and love.
On the professional front, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently starred in Mani Ratnam’s epic film Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 (2023), which garnered substantial commercial success with earnings exceeding ₹344 crore worldwide. Her performance received critical acclaim, earning her the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award at SIIMA. Her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, described her role as her best yet.
Through this touching tribute, Aishwarya reinforces the deep emotional connection she maintains with her father and how she honors his memory for herself, her family, and especially for Aaradhya.
