AWOT Launches Regional Office at Dubai Airport Freezone

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZ), under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), has officially launched the regional headquarters of AWOT Global Logistics Corporation, a significant development in Dubai's logistics landscape.

This opening showcases the increasing trust that global logistics leaders place in Dubai’s favorable business environment, robust infrastructure, and its pivotal role as a hub connecting Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

The ceremony saw Arif Al Khouri, Senior Vice President of Customer Services at Dubai Airport Freezone, and Chris Yang, General Manager of AWOT in the MENA region, lead the inauguration. Notable attendees from AWOT Corporation, including Chief Operating Officer David Lee and others, highlighted the strategic significance of this expansion.

The establishment of AWOT’s regional headquarters at DAFZ is part of a broader strategy to expand its presence in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. From this location, AWOT will manage regional operations, utilizing Dubai's competitive logistics infrastructure and seamless access to international markets.

DMETZ has reiterated its commitment to drawing in high-value international companies specializing in logistics and smart supply chain solutions, continuing to bolster Dubai's position as a global logistics center linked to Asian and international markets.

Boosting Growth and Connectivity

Arif Al Khouri remarked that the inauguration of AWOT's headquarters underscores the confidence that global firms have in Dubai’s economic landscape.

He emphasized that Dubai Airport Freezone offers an all-encompassing platform for growth and sustainability, aligning with the goals outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double the size of the emirate’s economy and elevate Dubai among the world’s premier cities.

According to Al Khouri, the proximity of DAFZ to Dubai International Airport, coupled with state-of-the-art infrastructure and efficient processes, empowers logistics firms to navigate complex supply chains quickly and effectively amid increasing global trade demands.

Chris Yang called the launch of the regional headquarters a crucial step for AWOT’s growth trajectory. He indicated that Dubai represents an ideal foundation for scaling integrated logistics solutions, thanks to its business-friendly environment, exceptional infrastructure, and strategic access to key international markets.

Global Presence and Scale of Operations

Headquartered in China, AWOT employs over 1,500 personnel and operates 55 self-managed locations across China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, along with strong footholds in North America and Europe. The company collaborates with more than 300 partner agents worldwide, spanning over 100 countries.

As one of the top 10 air freight companies globally, AWOT ranks ninth in the 2025 Armstrong & Associates standings. The firm has facilitated over 1,800 charter flights linking Asia with the United States, Europe, Latin America, and other regions, handling nearly 780,000 metric tonnes of air cargo.

AWOT has developed enduring partnerships with leaders in technology and industrial sectors, alongside major international airlines and shipping entities, empowering it to deliver efficient, integrated logistics solutions across various industries.

Innovative Operations and Digital Solutions

From its new Dubai location, AWOT will manage air, sea, and land freight, cross-border transit, specialized cargo handling, and large-scale logistics projects. The facility is designed to serve as a hub for regional and global partnerships.

DAFZ will facilitate AWOT’s operations by linking the company to a fully integrated ecosystem comprising logistics providers, customs authorities, clearance agents, and distribution partners, thereby enhancing operational flexibility and efficiency.

This headquarters will also be pivotal in deploying AWOT’s cloud-based digital platforms, tracking systems, and data analytics solutions, anticipated to significantly boost visibility, speed, and reliability throughout regional supply chains.

Dubai Airport Freezone has confirmed its dedication to offering the necessary regulatory and operational support to assist AWOT's expansion, while the company aims to leverage its international expertise to contribute to Dubai's logistics sector growth and competitiveness.
