Bangladesh Saves ‘Donald Trump’ Buffalo

Bangladesh Saves ‘Donald Trump’ Buffalo

Post by : Shakul

A rare albino buffalo known as “Donald Trump” has been saved from sacrifice in Bangladesh after authorities intervened just hours before the animal was scheduled to be offered during Eid celebrations. The unusual buffalo had gained widespread attention across social media and local news platforms because of its striking appearance, particularly its long blond hair that many people compared to the hairstyle of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The 700-kilogram buffalo became an internet sensation after photographs and videos of the animal circulated online. Its distinctive white coat and flowing blond hair attracted visitors from different parts of the country, turning the animal into an unexpected public attraction ahead of the Eid festival.

According to officials, the government stepped in after receiving recommendations from wildlife and animal conservation authorities. A directive was issued to prevent the sacrifice of the buffalo and ensure its protection due to its rare genetic characteristics and growing public interest. Local police subsequently took custody of the animal and coordinated its transfer to government care.

The buffalo’s former owner had earlier explained that the animal was named “Donald Trump” by his brother because of its unusual hair, which closely resembled the signature hairstyle associated with the American president. The nickname quickly gained popularity and became widely recognized across Bangladesh through media coverage and social networking platforms.

Authorities have now decided that the rare buffalo will be permanently preserved at the national zoo in Dhaka. Officials believe the animal can serve both educational and conservation purposes while allowing the public to observe a rare example of albinism in livestock. Experts have also expressed interest in studying its unique genetic traits.

The decision has generated considerable public discussion across the country. Many animal lovers and conservation advocates welcomed the move, arguing that preserving rare animals contributes to biodiversity awareness and encourages greater public appreciation of wildlife and unique livestock breeds. Others viewed the buffalo’s rescue as an unusual but memorable event linked to the Eid holiday.

Zoo authorities are expected to provide specialized care and monitoring for the buffalo after its arrival in Dhaka. With its distinctive appearance and remarkable story, “Donald Trump” has become one of Bangladesh’s most talked-about animals of the year, attracting attention far beyond the country’s borders and highlighting the growing interest in animal conservation and welfare.
