Tributes Pour In as Bollywood Icon Dharmendra Passes Away at 89

Renowned Bollywood star Dharmendra passed away on Monday, November 24, at age 89, merely two weeks after his discharge from the hospital due to health complications. The news has plunged his fans, fellow actors, and the broader film community into deep mourning.

Affectionately dubbed the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, Dharmendra garnered adoration for his powerful roles and unwavering commitment to the art of cinema over a career that stretched beyond sixty years, leaving an indelible mark with numerous classic films.

A wave of tributes flooded social media from Bollywood peers and friends. Kapil Sharma expressed his sorrow, saying:
"Farewell, Dharam Paaji. Your loss is profoundly sad; it feels like losing my father again. Your love and blessings will stay etched in my heart forever. Your ability to touch hearts was unparalleled."

Akshay Kumar fondly recalled his admiration for Dharmendra, stating:
"While growing up, Dharmendra Ji was the hero every boy aspired to be… our industry’s true He-Man. Thank you for being an inspiration across generations. Your cinematic impact and the love you shared will endure. Om Shanti."

Among Dharmendra’s iconic films are Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Jani, Jugnu, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dost, Sholay, Pratiggya, Charas, and Dharam Veer, showcasing his unmatched charisma, energy, and versatility, securing his status as one of Bollywood's cherished figures.

Audiences will have a chance to see him one final time in the upcoming war drama ‘Ikkis’, featuring Agastya Nanda. Dharmendra’s legacy is firmly planted in the hearts of fans and colleagues through his films and significant contributions to Indian cinema.
