Gabrielle Henry: Miss Jamaica in ICU After Pageant Incident

Gabrielle Henry: Miss Jamaica in ICU After Pageant Incident

Post by : Meena Ariff

Gabrielle Henry, representing Jamaica in Miss Universe 2024, remains hospitalized three days post a serious fall during the evening gown round in Thailand. The incident took place on November 19 when the 28-year-old contestant stumbled in high heels and fell from the stage while in a stunning orange gown. Immediately after, she was transported to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals conducted necessary scans and evaluations to check her injuries.

Initial medical assessments revealed no life-threatening injuries or fractures; however, due to the severity of the fall, ongoing monitoring was deemed essential. Consequently, Henry missed the Miss Universe Pageant the next day on November 20.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization announced that her mother, Maureen, and sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, traveled to Thailand to be by her side. Dr. Henry-Samuels shared her concerns about Gabrielle's condition, stating, “Gabby isn’t improving as we had wished, but the hospital is providing the necessary treatment for her condition.” Medical experts have suggested that she stay in the ICU for at least another week for comprehensive care.

The organization urged everyone to keep Gabrielle in their thoughts, highlighting the importance of compassion and responsible online communication. They requested not to circulate negative comments or unconfirmed information that might add distress to her family. Their focus remains solely on her healing and recovery.

Messages of support have flooded in from fans, fellow contestants, and the international pageant community. Officials visiting Henry have assured that she is receiving high-quality medical attention. She continues to be in the ICU as medical teams strive to stabilize her condition, with further updates anticipated upon any significant improvement.
