Post by : Meena Ariff

At a prominent leadership summit in Mumbai, Deepika Padukone captivated attendees with her commanding presence and elegance, sporting an exquisite all-black Sabyasachi ensemble. The renowned actress is admired for her daring fashion choices, turning the gathering into an illustration of how contemporary Indian luxury effortlessly merges with global style norms.

Her outfit, from the Autumn/Winter 2025 line of Sabyasachi Mukherjee, elegantly fused tailored lines with soft draped elements. A cropped jacket, crafted from luxurious Italian cashmere, showcased delicate ivory floral embroidery, complemented by high-waisted trousers made from plush Japanese velvet that gracefully added movement, epitomizing a refined fusion of formal and ethnic styles.

Styled by Shaleena Nathani, Deepika's aesthetic featured a sleek low bun paired with understated makeup and soft rose-tinted lips. The diamond studs she chose were an elegant touch that perfectly matched her sophisticated, yet powerful fashion choice.

On stage, Deepika joined forces with Sabyasachi Mukherjee to delve into conversations about art, identity, and the essence of Indian luxury today. Their dialogue underscored the significance of craftsmanship, cultural narratives, and authenticity in shaping India’s dynamic global fashion presence.

Sabyasachi lauded Deepika’s cultural representation, declaring her “India's cultural ambassador” and asserting that no one embodies Indian culture better than she does. He also noted, “beautiful things emerge from relatability and vision,” emphasizing that often those on the fringes resonate most with the audience.

During their discussion, Deepika candidly shared insights from her career, reflecting on the evolving perceptions within the industry. As the voice of Meta AI, she remarked, “Being the voice of AI is intriguing, especially since I faced criticism for my voice and accent when starting out. AI cannot possess soul.”

She also spoke about the biases she has encountered, noting her experiences regarding casting, accent, and skin color. Despite these hurdles, she has become a celebrated figure in Indian cinema, honored for her authenticity and cultural pride.

When reminiscing about her most relatable role, Deepika stated that her character in Piku resonated most with her true self.

Deepika's presence at the summit represented more than just fashion; it signified power, grace, and confidence. With her signature elegant style, Deepika Padukone continues to establish herself as a global icon, redefining grace and influence in remarkable ways.
