Eternal CEO and Zomato founder, Deepinder Goyal, has unveiled a teaser of Temple, an innovative device crafted to monitor brain blood flow. He shared a sneak peek of the gadget on Instagram, captioned “Getting there,” which piqued widespread interest. Recently, many had observed Goyal donning a small golden device on his right temple, generating a frenzy of curiosity online. This new post affirms that the device is indeed an integral part of his latest research initiative.
Previously, Goyal elaborated on LinkedIn that Temple is an experimental innovation designed to precisely and continuously gauge brain blood flow. Its development coincided with his investigation into the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis. Just last month, he articulated a detailed concept suggesting that gravity might influence human ageing. He clarified that he speaks not as CEO, but as an inquisitive individual delving into scientific questions. Goyal posits that gravity could affect human lifespan along with its influence on the brain over time.
He interlinked three scientific observations: slight dips in blood flow while standing, the sensitivity of significant brain regions such as the hypothalamus and brainstem, and their role in regulating ageing. This exploration propelled him to examine whether tracking brain blood flow could enhance our understanding of ageing. Therefore, Temple was conceived as part of this inquiry.
Despite ongoing discussions surrounding the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis, Goyal maintains that the device itself holds significant promise. Having utilized Temple for a year, he believes it could evolve into a crucial health instrument on a global scale. He noted that monitoring brain flow is already an established marker for ageing, cognitive abilities, and longevity. Thus, the device would remain applicable even if the gravity theory were debunked. He also countered speculation that he devised the hypothesis solely to promote the device, asserting his commitment to customer trust over marketing strategies.
Goyal mentioned that Temple will be a minor aspect of his larger project, Eternal, and emphasized that his motives are rooted in sincere scientific inquiry rather than commercial interests. Research on Temple is undertaken by Continue Research, a project focused on life sciences and the intricacies of human ageing. He revealed that his team has dedicated two years to studying biology, ageing science, and methods to mitigate human ageing. As interest escalates, Temple is emerging as a distinctive effort to merge health innovation with profound scientific exploration.
