Widespread misinformation regarding Bollywood legend Dharmendra's health began circulating online last night. The iconic actor was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on November 10, leading to rumors that he was on ventilator support. This morning, social media was filled with alarming false reports suggesting that Dharmendra had passed away.
To combat these unfounded claims, Dharmendra’s wife, renowned actress Hema Malini, took to Twitter to voice her frustration. She stated, “What is happening is absolutely unacceptable! Responsible outlets should not spread misleading news about someone who is recovering. This behavior is disrespectful and careless. Please allow our family the privacy we need during this difficult time.” Her poignant message highlighted the necessity for compassion and consideration during sensitive moments.
As admirers and supporters await hopeful news regarding Dharam Paaji’s health, it’s essential to appreciate the meaningful connections he shares in the industry, particularly with Salman Khan.
A Special Connection: Dharmendra and Salman Khan
Among his many acquaintances, Salman Khan holds a unique place in Dharmendra's heart. Their relationship, rooted in years of mutual esteem and affection, is often reminisced about fondly by the veteran actor. In a 2015 interview, Dharmendra expressed that Salman would be his choice for a biopic portrayal, citing, “He embodies many of my characteristics. I believe he could portray me authentically on screen.”
Reflecting on his respect for Salman, Dharmendra recalled a touching story from the trailer launch of his film Yamla Pagla Deewana in 2011. He said, “If I call any industry friend, they all come because of my family's goodwill. Salman is genuinely a good person, and I admire him. He’s wonderful and sincere.” He shared an endearing memory: “The first time I encountered Salman was during a shoot by a lake, where he famously dove in to retrieve a camera that had fallen. My first impression was that he displayed remarkable courage and an emotional depth. Being a good person is what truly matters.”
Salman's Support During Tough Times
Upon learning of Dharmendra’s hospitalization, Salman Khan was among the first to visit him, reflecting the profound respect and affection he holds for the Bollywood great. As fans and the nation continue to pray for Dharam Paaji’s swift recovery, this moment emphasizes the enduring bonds that exist among Bollywood legends beyond their cinematic endeavors.
