Sustainability Week Begins at Dhofar University

Post by : Shakul

“Sustainability Week 2026” has officially begun at Dhofar University in Salalah, bringing together students and educators from across the Dhofar Governorate. The event is being held under the theme “Linking Culture with Innovation: Empowering Youth for Sustainability.”

The two-day event features participation from more than 27 schools and colleges, creating a dynamic platform for young minds to explore sustainable ideas and innovative solutions. It aims to raise awareness about environmental responsibility and inspire creativity among students.

Organizers highlighted that the event serves as an interactive hub where participants can showcase projects, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful discussions about sustainability and development challenges.

Dr. Muawiya Karim Al-Ani, Dean of the College of Commerce and Administrative Sciences, stated that the initiative represents a significant step toward promoting sustainability awareness within both academic institutions and schools.

He emphasized that the program brings together academics, students, and experts to discuss key topics such as environmental protection, sustainable development, and the role of education in shaping a better future.

The event includes a panel discussion titled “Linking Culture with Innovation: Empowering Youth for Sustainability,” along with exhibitions, competitions, and student-led initiatives focused on sustainable practices.

“Sustainability Week” aligns with the broader goals of Oman Vision 2040, aiming to empower youth and encourage innovative solutions to address environmental and social challenges.
