Abu Dhabi Unveils 16 New Parks in Al Shamkhah for Vibrant Community Life

Abu Dhabi Unveils 16 New Parks in Al Shamkhah for Vibrant Community Life

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has unveiled 16 new public parks in Al Shamkhah, a significant advancement in its commitment to improving urban livability and fostering connected communities in Abu Dhabi.

These parks serve as inclusive recreational centers, showcasing DMT's dedication to crafting modern and accessible public areas for residents of all ages. They boast generous green landscapes, eight designated fitness zones, 25 sports courts, and 26 children’s play areas accommodating diverse abilities. Additionally, walking paths, shaded seating, and open spaces promote outdoor activities, relaxation, and social connections.

Eng Khalifa Abdulla Alqemzi, Head of Capital Projects Execution at DMT, mentioned that the parks are strategically designed to enhance the daily experiences of residents. The new facilities are designed to create safe and inviting spaces for families, friends, and neighbors to unite. In alignment with the Year of Community, these parks aim to strengthen social ties, inspire active lifestyles, and cultivate a deeper sense of belonging within the neighborhood.

The parks in Al Shamkhah are part of an extensive initiative to develop community spaces throughout the capital this year. Similar developments have recently occurred in the Al Falah district and Mohamed bin Zayed City, aligning with DMT's broader goal of establishing well-integrated neighborhoods that promote health, wellness, and community cohesion.

Through the expansion of high-quality public spaces, DMT reinforces Abu Dhabi's vision of creating urban areas that prioritize people, enhance quality of life, and advocate for sustainable community living across the emirate.
