Dubai Basketball Extends Jurica Golemac’s Coach Contract to 2028

Dubai Basketball Extends Jurica Golemac’s Coach Contract to 2028

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Dubai Basketball has announced that head coach Jurica Golemac has extended his contract with the club until 2028, following an impressive 24-point victory over reigning EuroLeague champions, Fenerbahçe.

The Slovenian coach, who joined Dubai Basketball in 2024, has played a pivotal role in the team’s rapid rise both regionally and on the European stage. In his first season, Golemac guided Dubai Basketball to a remarkable 25–5 record in the ABA League Regular Season and led the team to the Playoff Semifinals in their debut year in the competition.

This season, the team continues to impress under his leadership. Dubai Basketball currently holds a 2–2 record in the EuroLeague, with notable wins against Partizan and Fenerbahçe, while remaining undefeated in the ABA League (2–0) after victories over Split and Borac Čačak.

Golemac has made history as the first coach to lead a Dubai-based team to compete in two international leagues simultaneously. Reflecting on the contract extension, Golemac said, “I feel very motivated to keep growing together with Dubai Basketball. We’re building something special here — a team that competes at the highest level and makes our fans proud every single day.”

General Manager Dejan Kamenjašević added, “This decision was made weeks ago, and we are announcing it today. We want Jurica to continue leading this project. He is the ideal person for our long-term vision — ambitious, professional, and deeply committed to our philosophy. Our goal is to improve every year, and with Jurica we know the project is in the right hands.”

Dubai Basketball will return to the court on Thursday, October 16, when they host FC Barcelona at the Coca-Cola Arena. The game is set to tip off at 8:00 PM local time, promising an exciting matchup for fans eager to see the team continue its strong start to the season.

Under Golemac’s guidance, Dubai Basketball has emerged as a rising force in European basketball, combining strategic gameplay with disciplined teamwork, and continues to attract attention across international leagues.
