Dubai is making waves in the digital space with the remarkable success of the DULOOK app, developed by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD). The app, designed to provide accurate prayer times and other religious features, has now surpassed 770,000 downloads worldwide, cementing Dubai’s reputation as a hub for innovative digital solutions.
Nearly half a million of these downloads have been recorded within the UAE, with 200,000 on Android and 300,000 on iPhone devices. Meanwhile, international users account for around 270,000 downloads, representing approximately 36% of the total user base.
The app’s popularity extends beyond the UAE, with notable engagement from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, and a growing following in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and India. Its success is attributed to precise prayer time calculations based on users’ locations, immersive Qibla direction, and smart notifications that encourage daily interaction.
DULOOK currently serves more than 65,000 active daily users, reflecting the growing demand for accessible digital religious tools. The app also integrates features for listening to the call to prayer and tracking religious occasions, making it a comprehensive platform for Muslims around the world.
IACAD has indicated plans for further development, focusing on expanding the app’s functionalities and enhancing the user experience. Feedback from users globally continues to guide these updates, ensuring that the platform remains relevant, reliable, and user-friendly.
Dubai’s investment in technology through platforms like DULOOK highlights the city’s commitment to merging tradition with innovation, offering users worldwide a convenient way to stay connected with their faith while benefiting from modern digital tools.
