Shocking Video of Tejas Jet Crash Emerges from Dubai Airshow

Shocking Video of Tejas Jet Crash Emerges from Dubai Airshow

Post by : Badri Ariffin

A haunting close-up video from the Dubai Airshow has emerged, capturing the final moments leading up to the crash of the Indian Air Force’s HAL Tejas fighter jet during a flying display. This footage provides an unprecedented look at the maneuver that resulted in the tragic demise of Wing Commander Namansh Syal.

The 37-year-old pilot, renowned for his exceptional flying skills, was undertaking a low-level aerobatic routine at the Al-Maktoum International Airport on the last day of the Airshow, which began on November 17. The Tejas was one of the event's primary attractions, drawing significant attention worldwide.

The newly released footage depicts the jet performing a series of sharp maneuvers before it suddenly loses altitude. Moments later, the aircraft descends rapidly, crashing into the ground and sending up a large cloud of smoke and dust. Flames quickly engulf the crash site, marking a tragic end to what started as a routine display.

Just a day prior, another video featuring Wing Commander Syal was shared, showing him engaging with dignitaries at the Airshow. He was seen alongside Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, India’s Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal, and high-ranking officials from the Ministry of External Affairs. It's unclear when this video was filmed during the multi-day event.

Originally from Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, Wing Commander Syal is survived by his wife, also an IAF officer, their six-year-old daughter, and his parents. His family reportedly found out about the crash through videos that circulated online shortly after the incident.

This tragic loss has overshadowed the final day of the Dubai Airshow, where the Tejas LCA was highlighted as a testament to India’s indigenous aviation achievements. As investigations unfold, the newly released video serves as a crucial reference, shedding light on the aircraft's last moments before the crash.
