A devastating accident unfolded on the Delhi-Agra Expressway near Mathura early Tuesday, as dense fog significantly lowered visibility and triggered a crash that involved seven buses and three cars. The incident tragically resulted in four fatalities, while 25 individuals suffered injuries during the extensive pile-up.
The collision led to several vehicles catching fire, evoking panic among those on board. Local police, fire services, and medical teams swiftly arrived at the scene to provide aid.
Authorities confirmed that rescue operations are actively being carried out, with all injured parties receiving necessary medical treatment. Fortunately, none of the hospitalized victims are reported to be in critical condition, and arrangements are being made to help stranded passengers return home safely.
District officials expressed their deep sorrow over the incident, labelling it as "extremely unfortunate". Their immediate priority is to focus on relieving the victims and ensuring timely medical assistance.
This unfortunate event follows another severe collision the day before on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, where fog also played a significant role, leading to multiple casualties and injuries.
Officials announced that a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the Mathura crash will commence once relief efforts are concluded. Meanwhile, government resources are fully deployed to manage the situation and support affected travelers.
