The Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) has released a health update on Dr. Gabrielle Henry, representing Jamaica at Miss Universe 2025. MUO reports that she is making a steady recovery and is expected to return home shortly, with comprehensive medical oversight.
Gabrielle faced a terrifying mishap during the preliminary event on November 19, 2025, when she fell through a stage opening. This accident resulted in an intracranial haemorrhage, unconsciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations, and additional injuries.
Following the unfortunate event, contention arose when Miss Haiti, Melissa Sapini, alleged that the MUO held Gabrielle accountable for her fall. However, MUO has categorically refuted these claims, confirming that Gabrielle is not to blame. A collaborative statement from MUO and Gabrielle’s family reassured that she is receiving ongoing specialized medical attention and will soon be moved to a different hospital for further care.
The organisation also underscored the extensive support offered to Gabrielle, including coverage of all medical fees, accommodations, and living expenses for her family during her recuperation period in Thailand.
Gabrielle Henry has conveyed her eagerness to return home, expressing, “I look forward to coming back home and seeing everyone soon.”
This event adds to a series of notable and contentious incidents within this year's Miss Universe pageant, highlighting the various challenges contestants encounter on stage.
