UFC 324: Gaethje Takes on Pimblett in a Historic Main Event

UFC 324: Gaethje Takes on Pimblett in a Historic Main Event

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Las Vegas is gearing up for an electrifying evening as UFC embarks on its new Paramount+/CBS chapter. UFC CEO Dana White revealed during the NFL Thanksgiving halftime that Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett are set to clash for the interim Lightweight title at UFC 324 inside the T-Mobile Arena.

Gaethje Seeks Another Interim Title

Justin “Highlight” Gaethje (26-5) has dismissed retirement talks for the moment, currently on a comeback path following his knockout defeat to Max Holloway at UFC 300. A two-time title contender, Gaethje holds a 3-1 record in his last four fights and captured the interim belt back in 2020 against Tony Ferguson. This upcoming bout offers him a vital opportunity to solidify his legacy.

Pimblett's Championship Aspirations

Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett (23-3) steps into the title mix riding momentum from his latest third-round victory over Michael Chandler. With an impressive undefeated UFC record of 7-0 and a recent victory against Tony Ferguson, Pimblett is primed for his inaugural championship experience. Although discussions about a potential bout against Topuria abound, Pimblett vs. Gaethje is the prime focus.

Co-Main Event: Harrison vs. Nunes

The co-main event presents a thrilling clash in the women's Bantamweight division, featuring reigning champion Kayla Harrison (19-1) going against former champion Amanda Nunes (23-5). Harrison has dominated her division, most recently defeating Julianna Pena via submission. Nunes, making her comeback from retirement, aims to claim a third Bantamweight title to her storied legacy.

Additional Notable Fights

UFC 324 has also announced key matchups including Sean O’Malley vs. Song Yadong, Waldo Acosta-Cortez vs. Derrick Lewis, and Jean Silva vs. Arnold Allen. This mix of rising stars and veteran fighters promises an exhilarating night in Las Vegas.

The dawn of this new era brings high stakes, explosive action, and captivating narratives that could redefine UFC's landscape in 2026. Fans are already eager for what is poised to be a memorable kick-off for the year.
