India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has provided an encouraging fitness report regarding key players Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya, just days before the first T20I against South Africa. The exciting five-match series kicks off on Tuesday at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, and fans are eager to see a fully fit Indian squad take the field.

Gill recently faced challenges due to neck spasms that sidelined him from the second Test and the ODI series. After a precautionary hospitalization, he underwent rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and is now fit to rejoin the T20I team. Confirming the news in a press conference, Suryakumar stated that both Gill and Hardik are “healthy and fit” for the series.

Hardik Pandya has also returned to action after recovering from a quadriceps injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2025, which had kept him from participating in crucial matches including the final against Pakistan. He showcased his fitness by playing for Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which led to his selection in the national team.
