Dubai Airport Records 24.2M Passengers in Q3 2025

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has reached a significant milestone by accommodating 24.2 million passengers during the third quarter of 2025, reflecting a 1.9% increase from the previous year. This growth brings the total for the first three quarters to 70.1 million passengers, a rise of 2.1% year-on-year. By September, the airport’s 12-month cumulative traffic topped 93.8 million travelers.

Aircraft activity remained vigorous, with DXB reporting 115,000 flights in Q3 and a total of 336,000 flights for the first nine months—an increase of 2.7% compared to last year. The average number of passengers per flight reached 213, showcasing impressive operational effectiveness.

Enhancing Travel Experiences

Dubai Airports is in the process of upgrading its terminal facilities to cater to increasing demand. New amenity highlights include:

  • CB Central (Terminal 3): Featuring Dubai’s premier brands.

  • CB East: Family-focused dining and entertainment options.

  • CB West: A hub for high-end shopping and casual dining.

  • CD Central (Concourse D, Terminal 1): Offering great views, modern lounge areas, and easy access to shopping.

The airport is also getting ready for Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) to emerge as the main access point by the early 2030s, designed to be a smart, future-oriented global aviation hub.

Key Origins and Destinations

India continues to be the primary source market for DXB with 8.8 million travelers, trailed by Saudi Arabia (5.5M), the UK (4.6M), Pakistan (3.2M), and the US (2.4M). Among the city routes, London remains the top destination with 2.8 million travelers, followed by Riyadh (2.3M) and Mumbai (1.8M).

Leisure travelers often chose destinations like Malaysia (687,000), Vietnam (493,000), and the Czech Republic (341,000), underscoring DXB’s pivotal role in tourism.

Operational Excellence

DXB has continued to uphold high service levels:

  • 63.8 million bags processed in nine months, a 6.2% rise.

  • 90% of bags were delivered to passengers in under 45 minutes.

  • Mishandled baggage accuracy maintained at 99.9%.

  • 99.6% of departing passengers cleared passport control in under 10 minutes.

  • Security screening completed in under 5 minutes for 99.7% of travelers.

Enhancing Dubai’s Global Standing

Following record traffic and strong operational metrics, DXB is further establishing Dubai as a key player in the global economy and tourism, fostering international travel, trade, and investment while gearing up for the next aviation growth phase at DWC.
