India Secure Big Win Over Pakistan In Asia Cup 2025 Dubai Showdown

India Secure Big Win Over Pakistan In Asia Cup 2025 Dubai Showdown

Post by : Raman

Dubai, UAE – India once again proved their strength against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, winning the Group A match by seven wickets in Dubai on Sunday. The victory gave India their second win of the tournament and kept Pakistan waiting for a rare win against their biggest rival.

Sharma’s Power Start

Young opener Abhishek Sharma set the tone for India’s chase with a fast and fearless innings. He scored 31 runs off just 13 balls, smashing Pakistan’s top bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi to all parts of the ground. Sharma hit fours and sixes with ease, taking away Pakistan’s hope of building early pressure.

Though Sharma was dismissed by part-time spinner Saim Ayub, his quick start gave India the confidence they needed.

Suryakumar Yadav Leads from the Front

India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav carried the innings forward with a calm yet aggressive knock of 47 runs from 37 balls. Even after losing wickets of Shubman Gill (10) and Tilak Varma (31), India never looked in trouble. Yadav sealed the win in style with a big six in the 16th over, finishing the chase comfortably.

Pakistan Struggles with the Bat

Earlier in the match, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha won the toss and chose to bat first. The decision looked good at the start because the Dubai pitch has often slowed down in second innings. But India’s bowlers struck early.

  • Saim Ayub was dismissed on the very first ball of the match by Hardik Pandya.

  • Mohammad Haris fell soon after to Jasprit Bumrah.

A short partnership between Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman gave Pakistan some hope, but India’s spinners turned the game around. The spin trio took six wickets in 10 overs, leaving Pakistan struggling.

It was only in the final overs, thanks to Shaheen Afridi and Sufiyan Muqeem, that Pakistan managed to cross the 100-run mark. Their late hitting took the team to 127 runs, but it was far too low against a strong Indian batting lineup.

A Familiar Story in India-Pakistan Cricket

India chased the target with ease, gaining two points from the match. As has now become the custom, the teams did not shake hands after the game. Pakistan, once again, left the field disappointed, knowing they missed another chance to beat their arch-rivals.

What’s Next?

  • Pakistan will face the UAE on Wednesday.

  • India will take on Oman on Friday.

Both matches will be important for deciding the future of Group A.

This match once again showed the gap between India and Pakistan in T20 cricket. India’s young talents like Abhishek Sharma are fearless, while senior players like Suryakumar Yadav bring stability. On the other side, Pakistan’s batting looked weak and heavily dependent on a few players.

Unless Pakistan improve their middle order and handle pressure better, matches against India will keep ending the same way. India, meanwhile, look confident and balanced, and this victory will boost their chances of defending the Asia Cup title.
