Shraddha Kapoor Faces Injury on ‘Eetha’ Set; Production Paused

Shraddha Kapoor Faces Injury on ‘Eetha’ Set; Production Paused

Post by : Meena Ariff

Beloved Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, known for her diverse roles, has been largely absent from the big screen since her appearance in Stree 2 (2024). Her fans were thrilled to learn about her latest project, Laxman Utekar’s film Eetha, which started shooting recently. However, production was halted after Shraddha suffered a toe injury during a dance performance.

The injury took place during her Lavani dance, a vibrant traditional performance from Maharashtra characterized by energetic movements. Sources indicate that the routine, set to a score by Ajay-Atul, involved rigorous choreography while she donned a colorful Nauvari saree, intricate jewelry, and a kamarpatta. To authentically embody the famed Tamasha performer Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, Shraddha had gained over 15 kilograms for the role. Unfortunately, while executing one of the complex steps, she lost her balance and fractured her toe.

In light of the accident, director Laxman Utekar promptly canceled the shoot to ensure Shraddha’s well-being. Displaying her commitment, she proposed adjustments to the filming schedule by focusing on emotional close-up scenes that minimized physical demand. The production team shifted to a different location at Madh Island to film several sequences. Regrettably, after a few days, her pain intensified, leading to a complete pause on production. Filming is anticipated to resume in roughly two weeks following Shraddha’s recovery.

Eetha is a much-anticipated biopic detailing the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, an iconic dancer who significantly impacted Maharashtra’s performing arts. The movie intends to highlight her obstacles, achievements, and legacy in traditional folk theatre.

Fans are rallying behind Shraddha Kapoor, eagerly awaiting her prompt return to cinema and conveying their hopes for her swift healing. Her unwavering dedication to her role, despite encountering physical difficulties, has only heightened interest in Eetha and her interpretation of the legendary Vithabai.
