IPL 2026 Auction: Full Breakdown of Players, Base Prices and Key Highlights

The stage is set for one of the most anticipated events of the cricketing calendar — the IPL 2026 Auction. A final shortlist of 350 players has been confirmed for the auction scheduled on December 16, 2025, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

This year’s auction features a strong combination of 240 Indian players and 110 overseas cricketers, shaping up a competitive landscape for teams looking to rebuild or reinforce their squads. With 77 open slots across 10 franchises, the bidding battles are expected to be intense, especially with several marquee names re-entering the pool.

The list has been trimmed down from an initial registration of 1,390 players, later reduced to 1,005, before finalizing at 350 — ensuring a competitive and quality-heavy auction pool.

Notable inclusions include Quinton de Kock, who entered the pool late with a base price of ₹1 crore, and Steve Smith, returning to the auction after four years, listed at ₹2 crore. Prominent Indian names like Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan headline the ₹75 lakh category, while several overseas all-rounders and fast bowlers add further depth to the list.
