In his address, Kim commended the North Korean populace for their "remarkable achievements and tremendous changes" in the past year. He highlighted the crucial need for national solidarity as preparations gear up for the upcoming 9th Congress of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea, slated for early 2026. This congress is expected to significantly shape the nation’s strategic objectives over the next five years, with a particular focus on advancing nuclear capabilities and economic planning.
The leader also directed his words toward North Korean troops engaged in conflict in Ukraine alongside Russian forces, praising them as the nation’s "greatest pride and strength, a robust pillar" and expressing his hope for their swift and safe return.
The forthcoming 9th Workers’ Party Congress is set to delineate extensive policies that will steer North Korea's future development in various fields, highlighting the leadership's focus on national progression and military enhancement.
