Saudi Arabia Aids 519 Patients at Hadhramaut Rehabilitation Facility

Saudi Arabia Aids 519 Patients at Hadhramaut Rehabilitation Facility

Post by : Maya Rahman

The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Hadhramaut Governorate continues its significant humanitarian effort by delivering medical assistance to individuals who have lost limbs due to the ongoing crisis in Yemen. Supported robustly by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), this facility catered to 519 beneficiaries during October 2025. The services are aimed towards enabling patients to walk again, regain strength, and enhance their daily lives.

In just October, the center executed 1,925 medical services, which encompassed the creation of prosthetic limbs, fittings for patients, physical rehabilitation sessions, and expert medical consultations. The primary objective of this program is to aid individuals in both their physical and mental recovery from severe injuries.

Out of those treated, 64% were men and 36% were women. Additionally, the report revealed that 14% of the patients were displaced, while 86% were local residents. This diverse demographic highlights the urgent need for medical support across various communities in Yemen.

The center offers critical healthcare services that many Yemenis are unable to access elsewhere. This includes:

  • Designing and fitting prosthetic limbs for individuals who have lost an arm or a leg.

  • Guiding patients in the safe and confident use of their artificial limbs.

  • Providing physical therapy aimed at rebuilding strength and enhancing movement.

  • Offering specialized consultations to track each patient’s development.

These services aim to foster long-term recovery and self-sufficiency. Many patients arrive at the center with limited mobility, but post-treatment, they can return to work, pursue education, and re-engage with everyday life.

This initiative is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's persistent humanitarian assistance to Yemen. Through KSrelief, the Kingdom continues to bolster hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and healthcare programs to support individuals impacted by conflict and displacement. By enhancing the health sector, KSrelief is pivotal in alleviating the hardships faced by countless Yemenis.

The ongoing work at the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to providing tangible, transformative support. The center not only addresses physical ailments but also instills hope in families who have experienced the loss of loved ones or have enduring disabilities.

The operations in Hadhramaut underscore the significance of humanitarian collaboration during crises. The assistance helps individuals rebuild their lives and restore dignity to those who have faced injuries. With continued aid, the center is poised to serve more patients and widen its influence throughout Yemen.
