Adylbek Kasymaliev held a high-level meeting with Masato Kanda in Washington, USA, on April 17, 2026. The discussion took place on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, focusing on strengthening economic cooperation and development initiatives.
During the meeting, Kasymaliev highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s strong economic performance in recent years. He noted that the country has maintained an average annual GDP growth rate of over 10 percent during the past four years, with growth reaching 11.1 percent by the end of 2025, reflecting steady economic progress.
He also emphasized that, according to international assessments, Kyrgyzstan ranked among the top three countries globally in terms of real GDP growth in 2024. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of the country’s economic reforms and policy measures aimed at boosting development.
A key focus of the talks was Kyrgyzstan’s ambition to become a regional transport and logistics hub by 2030. The government is working on strengthening infrastructure and enhancing connectivity to position the country as a strategic link in regional trade routes.
Kasymaliev expressed appreciation for the Asian Development Bank’s support, particularly for the National Electronic Logistics Platform project. This initiative aims to integrate transport systems and facilitate digital information exchange among logistics stakeholders, improving efficiency and transparency.
In response, Kanda praised Kyrgyzstan’s reform efforts and economic progress. He reaffirmed the Asian Development Bank’s commitment to supporting the country’s priority sectors, including infrastructure development and digital transformation projects.
The meeting reflects growing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and international financial institutions, with both sides aiming to accelerate economic growth, enhance regional connectivity, and strengthen long-term development strategies.
