Mahima Chaudhry Reveals Breast Cancer Discovery During Check-Up

Mahima Chaudhry Reveals Breast Cancer Discovery During Check-Up

Post by : Meena Ariff

Mahima Chaudhry has bravely discussed her experience with breast cancer, revealing that it was diagnosed during a routine annual check-up back in 2022. She noted that there were no symptoms or discomfort, making the diagnosis completely unexpected. Remarkably, she hadn’t even scheduled a specific breast cancer screening; it was merely part of her regular health examination.

At the recent Young Women Breast Cancer Conference 2025, Mahima emphasized her ignorance regarding the silent nature of cancer, which can develop without obvious signs. She highlighted that self-examinations may not be sufficient, advocating for regular medical screenings to ensure early detection of cancer. She encouraged everyone to make annual health check-ups a priority to catch potential issues early on.

Mahima also reflected on the advancements in cancer treatment in India since her diagnosis. She mentioned that the cost of generic medications has decreased significantly, alongside better support from pharmaceutical companies, and increased awareness around breast cancer. Hearing narratives from fellow survivors inspired her and provided strength during her treatment.

After her recovery, Mahima gradually returned to her career. She recently appeared in the film The Signature, alongside Anupam Kher, and her upcoming release, Durlabh Prasad Ki Doosri Shaadi, featuring Sanjay Mishra, is set to launch later this month. Despite her challenges, she remains dedicated to her profession while using her experience to motivate others to prioritize health and screenings.
