The campaign for the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency in Kolkata has intensified, with the Trinamool Congress placing Mamata Banerjee at the centre of its election strategy. The party is projecting her as “Gharer Mey” (daughter of the house) to build a strong emotional connect with local voters.
Senior party leader and Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor Firhad Hakim has taken charge on the ground, conducting door-to-door campaigns in areas like Chetla. Interacting directly with residents, he urged them to support Mamata Banerjee, highlighting her long-standing connection with the constituency.
Hakim expressed strong confidence in the Chief Minister’s victory, claiming she would win by a margin of over 60,000 votes. He stated that Bhabanipur remains her stronghold, where voters are closely familiar with her leadership and development work.
The campaign strategy focuses on grassroots outreach, with party workers engaging voters at the local level to reinforce support. The approach also aims to remind residents of Mamata Banerjee’s roots in the constituency and her role in state governance.
Bhabanipur has historically been a key seat for Mamata Banerjee, and the ongoing campaign reflects the party’s determination to secure a decisive mandate. Political observers note that the emphasis on personal connection and local identity could play a significant role in influencing voter sentiment in the constituency.
