Advanced Surgical Training Center Opens in Dubai Science Park

Advanced Surgical Training Center Opens in Dubai Science Park

Post by : Badri Ariffin

MedLab Training Institute has officially inaugurated a cutting-edge surgical training center at Dubai Science Park, recognized as the foremost science-oriented hub in the region and part of the TECOM Group.

This new establishment addresses the escalating need for practical, hands-on clinical training among medical professionals in the Middle East. Emphasizing cadaveric and simulation-based surgical education, the institute aims to enhance the procedural skills and advanced techniques of doctors and specialists.

The facility is projected to train approximately 1,000 to 1,500 healthcare providers annually, including consultants, specialists, and newly qualified medical practitioners. The training programs will feature participation from international academics, regional veterans, and industry collaborators, providing attendees with insights into a range of surgical methodologies and contemporary clinical practices.

The expert faculty consists of consultant-level surgeons and specialists with notable academic and clinical accomplishments. Several are linked with premier teaching hospitals and universities across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.

The training center is equipped with cadaveric laboratories, advanced audiovisual setups for live demonstrations and recordings, along with dedicated educational spaces that foster immersive learning. Through cadaveric training, healthcare providers can engage with real human anatomy in a controlled environment, bolstering surgical precision, confidence, and patient care outcomes.

Training offerings are structured in accordance with applicable regulatory and accreditation mandates. Most courses span one to three days, with intensive hands-on experiences lasting up to eight hours daily.

The center delivers specialized training across various medical specialties, including orthopaedics, spine surgery, sports surgery, maxillofacial procedures, and reconstructive surgery.

Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi noted that this new facility enhances the UAE’s healthcare and life sciences sector by establishing advanced surgical training opportunities in the country. He added that the initiative aims to bolster clinical skills and patient care, aligning with the UAE’s long-term strategic goals, including the “We the UAE 2031” vision and Dubai Economic Agenda “D33”.

Dr. Bilal El-Yafawi emphasized that MedLab was founded to elevate surgical training through practical, experience-based education that mirrors authentic clinical environments. He asserted that this new center will facilitate the ongoing growth of healthcare professionals within the region.

In the coming two to three years, MedLab plans to broaden its training programs and reinforce collaborations with healthcare entities and industry leaders. The institute intends to increase participant numbers and establish the facility as a pivotal regional center for advanced surgical education.

Dubai Science Park is a crucial part of TECOM Group’s portfolio of specialized business districts, which includes Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Park, and Dubai Industrial City.
