Mubadala Bio Unveils New High-Potency Facility and Oncology Medications

Post by : Maya Rahman

Mubadala Bio has revealed the inauguration of a new high-potency production facility at its subsidiary, Bioventure Healthcare. This event is marked by the introduction of three key oncology medications, with some being developed locally in the UAE for the first time as branded generics. This initiative aims to bolster the nation’s pharmaceutical sector while ensuring consistent access to essential treatments.

The newly established facility is designed specifically for the safe manufacturing of high-potency drugs, which include both cancer and hormone-related medications. Adhering to the highest global safety and quality protocols, it is well-equipped to handle intricate and sensitive products used in specialized medical care.

The initial offerings from this facility consist of Lenalidomide, which treats myeloma, a type of blood cancer; Pomalidomide, locally produced for the first time and utilized for multiple myeloma; and Sunitinib, a targeted therapy for specific advanced cancers. These treatments are critical in oncological care and are indispensable for numerous patients.

Through local production, Mubadala Bio is reinforcing drug security within the UAE. This strategy ensures an uninterrupted supply of vital therapies, minimizes reliance on imports, and provides affordable alternatives for patients and healthcare providers nationwide.

Mubadala Bio officials commented that this achievement is a pivotal step toward advancing the UAE’s life sciences landscape. They noted that investments in local manufacturing enhance access to essential medications, improve health outcomes, and fortify the national medical supply chain. This initiative encapsulates Mubadala Bio’s enduring commitment to fostering a robust and sustainable healthcare environment in the UAE.
