Musandam Council Reviews Markets, Roads and Tourism Plans

Musandam Council Reviews Markets, Roads and Tourism Plans

Post by : Shakul

The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate has reviewed a series of key development projects aimed at improving infrastructure, tourism facilities and public services across the region. The discussions took place during the council’s sixth meeting of 2026, held in Khasab under the chairmanship of His Excellency Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate.

During the session, council members examined responses related to previously raised issues and evaluated several new proposals designed to support economic growth and improve living standards for residents. Among the major topics discussed was the redevelopment of the historic Al Hala Market in Khasab, a project intended to preserve local heritage while creating new commercial opportunities.

The council also addressed concerns regarding the availability and pricing of animal feed in the governorate. Members explored options to improve supply chains and ensure that livestock owners have easier access to affordable resources, supporting the agricultural and rural economy of Musandam.

A significant portion of the meeting focused on infrastructure development. Officials reviewed plans to enhance Bukha by transforming it into a more integrated urban center. Discussions also covered the development of the farms area in Madha, where improved infrastructure is expected to strengthen agricultural productivity and encourage further investment in the sector.

Another important project examined by the council was the proposed dual carriageway linking Qurun Al-Sayd and Khub Al-Shamsi in Dibba. The road expansion project is expected to improve transportation efficiency, reduce travel time and enhance safety for motorists using one of the governorate’s key transport routes.

Tourism development was also high on the agenda. Council members discussed a request to repair and upgrade the beach umbrellas at Qadi Beach. The initiative aims to improve visitor facilities, enhance the beach’s visual appeal and create a more comfortable recreational environment for both tourists and local residents.

The meeting concluded with a review of social and environmental issues affecting the governorate, including challenges caused by the increasing presence of trucks in Khasab. Council members emphasized the importance of implementing practical solutions and following up on all recommendations to ensure sustainable development, improve public services and support the long-term growth of Musandam Governorate.
